Karen - 287 is a large highway and a major corridor that extends North for hundreds of miles and eventually makes its way near the Tetons. The volume of traffic that it now must handle precludes thinking about biking along this road or for that matter having multiple intersections with pedestrians crossing. Drivers readily travel at speeds in excess of 60 MPH. Most folks would apprciate crossing bridges - this is not a small town boulevard...
I read the study before I posted this.... its a tough task to mix this highway with much pedestrian or bike traffic.... be well... No easy answers for sure.
This is such an important topic (Hwy 287) and one that my husband and I often discuss. Thank you for sharing that this has been in discussions and for sharing the report. I hope they can do something quickly to cut down on the number of accidents!
I know it is a topic of discussion for many folks so when the report was released and presented to our city council last month I put it on the "gotta report on this asap" list. :-) I'm glad you found it useful. They have near and long term plans I wonder what "near term" means.

I encourage you to read the study and provide your feedback before August 31!
