LOL. What about that change to the city's development page? I only saw that today because someone saw this project.

Thanks for spreading the word, Karen!!! Hard to keep up with all the “In Progress” development and this one seems like a biggie. I can’t believe it’s flown under the radar since February. Semi-tucked behind Kohl’s with almost no 287 visibility of the property—except for that 4th floor, I suppose 🤪 With Silo and Anna’s Farm directly across Aspen Ridge it’s like plopping an extended stay hotel into a residential neighborhood. Who does that??? Doesn’t really feel like the “Lafayette vibe” but I’m new around here so what do I know…

We have been fighting to keep the "Lafayette vibe" for many years now, decades. 😩

It says there was a neighborhood meeting, so there should have been a sign on the property, and people within 750 feet should have received a letter. That might be worth following up with the staff. Millissa Berry is the planner on it, you can contact her in that dept via a link on that page.

I contacted her this morning to ask about the info that says "key dates" city council February 18th. I watch all the council meetings and I think I would have seen that. LOL I think that is an error. The chart shows it is in formal review and then it goes to planning commission and then council.

I also check the development page often and this is the first I have seen anything about this project. Ron Spalding who watches closely too, says it was the first he heard about it.

That neighborhood meeting would most likely be the first time anything is known publicly.

We did not receive a letter about a neighborhood meeting in February, haven’t spoken to any neighbors who did either. Also drive by the property daily and don’t recall any public notice signs posted around that time. I’ll be reaching out to Millissa Berry for clarification. As always, appreciate the guidance!

T

I think they're trying to make it easier for the public to find things. Making improvements more intuitive.😁

I missed that too. I always went to the Planning Division's "development projects" list. Getting hard to keep up with all the changes!

That's where I went this morning and found it was all different. https://www.lafayetteco.gov/3961/Development-Projects
