We can’t possibly obtain enough water to meet the needs of our abysmal future now that Jared Polis is going to force us to become one of his worker bee colonies, which will nearly triple our current population. It makes me want to abandon all of my conservation efforts because what am I conserving for? So Polis can use it to build his political career? I really don’t see how any of this is ever going to work for what he and his legislative cronies have in mind for us.

Excellent report. Until the state/local governments tackles the building permit approvals we will never resolve the growth/water issue but that's a whole different topic and one that will never be accomplished in my humble opinion.

Lafayette residents absolutely can not win. We don't build reservoirs to capture water flow we pay for. We give developers sweetheart deals that leave residents with stratospheric rate increases in water cost. Back in the early 2000's we had a horrible drought only to find out we had no pipeline to a water supply WE ACTUALLY WERE PAYING FOR. Lafayette has been the absolute poster child for local government mismanagement over the last 25 years. So, back to water rationing. Water is not actually a limited resource. There's always the same amount of water on the planet. It just doesn't all come each year. We have access to more than enough water and with proper management we never need rationing. But we are seemingly unable to dig a hole in the ground and save it.
