Thanks for the update Karen! I always enjoy the knowledge you share about the new (and old) happenings of Lafayette 🥰

Glad you like it! I always struggle with adding too much info but I want people to have knowledge that they can use to make decisions about something being good, bad, or neutral. Haha

Great stuff! Back in 2010/11, Erie and Lafayette did actually agree to revenue sharing. However at the time still bound to Boulder County IGA. The county demanded that Erie give up some crucial intersections on 287 to Open space and sign an IGA for additional 20 years (Lafayette also) which is why the deal crumbled and both Erie and Lafayette subsequently did not renew the IGA in 2014.

Thanks, Frank! This is interesting. This seems like the time you were on the Lafayette council so you have the inside track! Since I wrote this piece I have been told there was some buzz about Kohl's but it fell through when the economy crashed.

Looking back on what could have been can be heartbreaking. ;-)

It’s discouraging that Erie and then Lafayette stepped away from the IGA. Thanks for explaining the history Karen. I miss our small town… I moved here in 2000. Sigh.
