Thanks to the applicants!
An update on the Mental Health and Human Services Grant Program Advisory Committee
On June 24th 2023 I wrote a piece titled “Can You Help?” giving the background of our voter approved Mental Health and Human Services Tax.
I told you that there was a short term city committee being formed to read through grant applications from nonprofits and advise the city council on how to allocate the funding raised by this tax. At the time of writing there had only been three applications for the seven openings on the committee and I asked if there was anyone reading who might step up and apply for a few of the open spots. The deadline to apply had been extended by a few days.
Well dear readers, I don’t know if any of you did decide to apply but when the application period closed there were fifteen applicants! Whoo hoo! My thanks to anyone who answered my plea and filled out an application. There is now a full committee and here are the members.
