Seven candidates for Lafayette City Council
Here are the folks asking for your vote
The deadline has passed to get on the ballot for this year’s city council election. Four seats are open. Two councilors will be running for their seats again. Councilor Stephanie Walton is term limited and Councilor Medrano has chosen not to run again. That means two seats are totally up for grabs.
Here are the candidates. I did a minor Google search to see what it brought up on some of the candidates. Others I already knew a titch of info. I expect there will be websites, meet and greets, flyers, etc., as they launch their campaigns and ask for your vote. There will also be a couple of forums. More to come on that later.
Tim Barnes - current councilor running for a second term
David Fridland - member of our Sustainability and Resilience Advisory Committee (SRAC)
Crystal Gallegos - sorry, nothing popped up on my super quick Google search
JD Mangat - current mayor running for a second full term (He was first appointed to fill a council vacancy. The city charter requires appointees to run at the next election)
Gala W. Orba - ran for Boulder council in 2019
Eric Ryant - owner of Herbal Wellness
John W. Watson - ran for council in 2017
I would be interested in hearing your endorsements for City Council when the election approaches.
