THE ROSE LUERAS POOL CLOSURE
If you are a regular visitor to the pool you know it’s closed, for those who don’t here’s some background on what’s happening.
From the city website:
In late April, aquatics staff identified significant water loss in the 33-year-old pool complex within the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center. The Rose Lueras Pool Complex, which closed on May 1, will remain closed for extensive structural assessment to identify and prioritize major repairs in mechanical and structural systems. The pool has been closed intermittently for maintenance over the past several years, and many systems are reaching the end of their useful life. This structural assessment of the facility is necessary to guide the next steps in making repairs or potential replacement of indoor pool amenities.
While work is not always visible to the public, a technical site analysis has begun and will continue throughout the summer months.
As results from the assessments are reviewed, staff will evaluate the feasibility of reopening amenities. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this situation.
Passholders may opt to pause memberships while the pool complex is closed.
All amenities at The Great Outdoors Water Park opened on May 25, and hours were expanded to provide better access to this important community amenity.
