It is partly inevitable, but my thought is that Boulder would like Lafayette to be its affordable bedroom community, and the powers at the top of the state political levels may be in on the deal, maybe with some perks for themselves, political perks or financial perks. We want to be rural, but Boulder and the State of Colorado in its present leadership wants us to be affordable housing. As in the movie dialogue used often from the movie "Jaws," "we're going to need a bigger boat."

Polis and his flunkies are doing the same thing to us as Trump is doing to Colorado. Trump barges in here demanding we do things in a way that belies our values, our goals, our priorities, and our heart and soul as a state. And Polis HATES it. He hates being strong armed in conflict with our values and priorities, and He is not just lying down and letting Trump roll us over with his own selfish political agenda. He is standing our ground and preparing for a fight. But yet even while he fights, he is doing the exact same thing to us and our city as Trump is doing to our wonderful state, but he expects us to just lie down and take it. He doesn’t have the slightest idea who we are, what is important to us, what we can and can’t sustain, he has no idea, and he clearly doesn’t care. Polis is trying his hardest to protect our state from Trump, standing up for our character and values, but that fight hasn’t helped him see that he should be protecting our city from the very abuse of power that he and his state legislators are instead themselves trying to inflict on us. It is the exact same abuse of power, forcing the powerless to fall in line with what the powerful want, with the threat of punishment if we resist. Polis is Donald Trump Light. He should be deeply ashamed.
